Postproduction

I’ve finally reached postproduction where I begin to choose and sort the different shots that I took for my opening scene. To be honest I took a lot of shots because I wanted to be able to find what was just right and to be safe. The editing process is important to be because I’m trying to allow the shots to navigate in meaning and not just be placed in a specific place for no apparent reason. I want to focus on meaning making and by doing so I allow my editing and transitions to match and flow. The main technology that I used for this prices was my phone and laptop. I learned how to use WeVideo for the first time. It’s actually legit and pretty fun. I learned more about the different features and effects that can be added which was cool. It was kind of difficult at first since it was my first time using but I managed. The kinds of transitions that I used in the editing processing were mostly fading in between each shots. I wasn't able to find any sounds to match my project but I

Production

Its finally production time and I am pretty excited to see my story come to life. The technology used for my film was an iphone xr. I learned the importance of knowing what you're doing and how much power that holds because you can have all the technology you need but without knowledge of what you're doing its useless. I used Youtube and google chrome as consults for my film process such as certain camera angles and even inspiration from watchin short films. I did work from certain influences when recording specific shots such as this close up towards the ground that made an emphasis on the title. Also frameworks from Juno which incorporated full body shots of the characters walking out of frame or in frame. There were difficulties such as getting the kid to learn their lines and just getting them to understand my ideas. Also we filmed outside and the cars were pretty loud when passing by so it made it pretty difficult for my actors to hear each other. One main Aha moment wa

Preproduction

This is officially week 3 of me creating m entire film production. This process was rather smooth but there was a little delay that help me back. The location that my film will be taken placed is in my ow neighborhood in front of my house. The actors that were hired into my upcoming film was my little brother who played young Jasper and my little cousin who played young Jayla. The older characters were played by My older sister and I. I chose this cast because it would be easier to film especially due to covid-19 and all. I had to make sure that these actors knew how to play their roles and understand who they are and why they act the way they act. Also time and scheduling played a big role because personally I'm pretty busy and my older sister so finding time to film was pretty difficult. M film is definitely going to look quite modern and vibrant. It'll make viewers feel mixed emotions but mainly laughter. The film will sound calm yet hip hoppy funk. I wan it to resemble 20

Scriptwriting and funding

Today is week 2 of me starting my script and putting it together.. My mission statement for my film is the reality of what two individuals can actually deal with and the importance of understanding individuality in two different perspectives. Also, my film emphasizes moving forward which is what we learn growing up but my film shows the challenges and setbacks while trying to move forward in life. My brand would go towards individuality and strength. Some film companies that specialize in my drama are Entertainment, focus features, Working Title films and searchlight films. For this film i'd want to have a smaller production company. More like a independent production company because there's not a lot of involvement going on in my film even with the actors and also I would want to be able to be able to try all the different jobs into making a film. The production company I would choose to be involved in my film is the Warner bros because its already on every major movie and cr

Research process

Today is officially day one of me putting together my film opening scene. My research process has been incredibly different due to the fact that I'm trying my best to keep up with the class and learn the basics. I feel like doin this is beneficial for me because I'm able to learn about film techniques and its specific guidelines. My first source of research was canvas and watching recordings and videos about film openings and what it consists of such as film credits and title sequences. Film credits can either be placed in the beginning or end. Further research on this is that the opening credits list the most important members of the production. When this sequence is separated from the main action of the film it is known as a title sequence. Next up I did a little research on genres to see which type of genre I would like to focus on. I realized I would want my film opening scene to be i the drama category. Drama films are serious presentations that illustrate stories with se
